NLC and BeBright call for innovations for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases with Beat 2019

Let’s outrun cardiovascular disease – with this vision, European healthtech venture builder NLC collaborates with BeBright by organizing Beat 2019, a challenge to accelerate innovation for the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Supported by Rabobank, the Dutch Heart Foundation and the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, they challenge everyone worldwide to achieve better prevention of cardiovascular disease with their innovations.

Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death worldwide. In 2016, more than 17 million people died from the effects of cardiovascular disease, which is equivalent to 30% of all worldwide deaths from illness. The World Health Organization estimates that 80% of the early heart disease and strokes can be prevented. To achieve this, solutions are urgently needed.

Anyone with an innovative idea, or the person who knows how to tackle behavioural risks or early detection and diagnosis of cardiovascular disease, is invited to participate in Beat 2019.

NLC, BeBright, and their partners, will give participants access to their extensive network to bring their innovation to life. The best innovations will take the stage during the Zorg & ICT Week at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht from 12-14 March 2019, and have a chance to be selected as the winner by the expert jury panel.

Registrations for Beat 2019 are now open. You can register at beat.nlc.nl.
