Beat 2019 is a challenge to accelerate innovation for the prevention of cardiovascular disease. Supported by Rabobank, the Dutch Heart Foundation, and the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, NLC and Bebright challenged everyone worldwide to achieve better prevention of cardiovascular disease with their innovations.
This week the all applicants have been assessed by the Beat 2019 team. The most promising and innovative projects have been selected to continue to the semi-finals. These innovators will pitch their inventions to a jury during the E-health week, on the 23rd of January at the office of BeBright (Jaarbeursplein 6, Utrecht). The event will start at 14:30h.
Curious how the candidates want to change the future of cardiovascular disease prevention? Everyone is welcome to watch as these pioneers take the stage to pitch their innovative ideas to the jury.
The semi-finalists will have their hearts set on a spot in the finals, to be held during the Zorg en ICT (Health and Technology) Week in Utrecht, between the 12th and 14th of March 2019.
Why Beat 2019?
Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death worldwide. In 2016, more than 17 million people died from the effects of cardiovascular disease, which is equivalent to 30% of all worldwide deaths from illness. We find this unacceptable, especially as the WHO estimates that 80% of early heart disease and strokes can be prevented.
