Bernard has always been driven by his curiosity and eager to learn how inventions work and how they can be improved. After graduating as a mechanical engineering he sought out a way to expand his technical knowledge to create more value. He left his home country, Brazil, to start his master’s in Entrepreneurship and Business Design at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, where he has had first-hand experience with venture creation, training in intellectual property strategy, open innovation and knowledge-based business development. Now, he aligns his technical and entrepreneurial background with his interest in healthcare improvement and helps NLC to bring innovative solutions to the patients.

Finishing his M.Sc. in Management & Technology at the Technical University Munich, Gonzalo is passionate about early-stage venture development. He has a background in Finance and Project Management. Prior to NLC Gonzalo has worked for corporates and startups in the Automotive industry and the Electronics/Communications industry. With this multidisciplinary background, he will assist the corporate team in finding significant partnerships and strategies for the development of NLC’s portfolio.

Hidde ten Brink

Hidde has extensive experience in mergers & acquistions, corporate and structured finance, company valuations, debt advisory, venture capital and treasury management. He gained this experience at EY’s M&A department, at Zanders as well as at an Amsterdam based M&A boutique. He will use this experience to help NLC’s ventures with finance related issues throughout their lifecycle under NLC’s management, ultimately leading to achieving successful exits, maximizing the ventures’ positive impact on society.

Business legal counsel with multidisciplinary/dynamic profile and more than 9 years of experience in corporate law, real estate law, tax law, and general contracts, having worked in structured deals in the real estate market, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions. Driven by the goal of making a positive societal impact through entrepreneurship, Lars joined NLC after finishing my master's degree at the London School of Economics. Together with the rest of the Venture Finance team, he is responsible for designing and validating business models of our new healthtech ventures, managing financing rounds for ventures in the NLC portfolio (both dilutive and non-dilutive), and developing novel financial propositions to ensure all our portfolio companies are financed according to need. This is all done with one single goal in mind: to accelerate the growth of NLC's venture portfolio and bring more groundbreaking medical innovations to the patient.

Lucia joined NLC in December 2019 as a Venture Developer Intern, after having finished her Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. She studied at the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV) in Spain, where she is from. She completed the last semester of her studies at Michigan Technological University and did an internship at the Center for Arrhythmia Research at University of Michigan. Mathilda joined NLC in January of 2021 as an intern in Venture Support/Legal Venture Support. Alongside contributing in the operations of Venture Support, she will assist on IP and data protection management. She is currently enrolled at Sahlgrenska School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship/Chalmers School of Entrepreneurship in Gothenburg, Sweden where she studies her final semester of Intellectual Capital Management as part of her specialization in law. Having a particular interest for data management and privacy within healthtech, she will efficiently help NLC promote innovations benefiting the patient. Will hold a LL.M and M.Med in Business Design and Entrepreneurship in Biomedicine after finishing her thesis the spring of 2021.

Nina is a medtech professional based in Paris. Trained at Ecole Polytechnique and with a PhD in biophysics, she holds 9+ years of experience in healthcare innovation, including 3 as a COO of a startup in neurovascular intervention. After a few years in academic lab benches and a couple in tech transfer, being hands on in venture development made her realize that the key to success in a highly innovating project is the level of dedication of the team. She decided to strengthen her skill set and gained expertise in organization strategy, cultural design and executive coaching. Able to cover both technical and human aspects of entrepreneurship, she is a very versatile swiss knife in helping healthcare innovation projects come to life.
